Blackboard:
Blackboard is
a course management system. Here you may find a syllabus,
homework assignments, tests, links to reference material and
other information for the classes you are enrolled in. Not
all classes will use Blackboard. It is up to the professor
whether or not they use Blackboard and the type and amount
of content they post for the student.
Online Password Management:
The
Password Management website allows you to manage your
password from anywhere in the world with an Internet
connection and a web browser. Passwords expire 180 days
after being set. You will receive an email warning that your
password is about to expire. At this point you should go to
the Password Management website and change your password.
H: Drive:
Each student is given personal space on our file servers to
store files related to their class work. The H: Drive is
automatically connected when you log on to any computer in a
classroom, Library Computer Lab and Cybercafe. Your H: Drive
is also available via the web at
myfiles.ju.edu. The logon for My Files is a bit
different than normal. In the Username box, you will have to
type the domain and your username in the following format,
ocean\username. (Make sure you use the correct slash)
Keeping your class work files on the H: Drive is safer
than carrying them around on a floppy or flash drive. The H:
Drives are backed up each weeknight, so if you accidently
delete a file, it can be restored from the backup. Contact
the Helpdesk x7200 if you need a file restored.
Personal Websites:
Every student at Jacksonville University has the opportunity
to host a personal or organization Web site on a JU server.
We support static and dynamic content of various types.
Every Web site starts out with 50 megabytes of storage. If
50 megabytes isn't going to hack it for you, call the
Helpdesk and request an increase. You can view policies and
guidelines
here. If you have any other questions about getting set
up or using your Web space, call Ryan at 7514.
