Student Employment at IT

Information Technology employs students in the following positions:

Help Desk I & II
Help Desk I covers the Help Desk. This job involves answering the phone and servicing walk-ins. Helpful skills include ability to communicate technical problems and resolutions.

Help Desk II involves troubleshooting PC and network problems. A typical scenario involves receiving a trouble call ticket from the Help Desk, visiting the machine to diagnose the problem, resolving and documenting the problem and closing the ticket.

Lab Assistant
This job is to assist the students in the computer labs. Answer general questions about computer usage, software support, printing questions. Monitor the labs and help with computer lab maintenance and security.

Residential Computer Consultant (RCC)
Primary responsibility of this job is to coordinate and assist the students in the residence halls to get their computer ready to connect with the University Network System. Secondary responsibility to assist students with general technology needs.

Working with IT will help you to get hands on experience in an exciting technical environment. It will give you the opportunity to work closely with the IT Technicians and the Network Administrator. This will provide you with training that will help you with your future career. The IT Department offers an excellent experience and the staff is friendly and always ready to assist you and provide you with training and information.
