Campus Services
Library Computer Lab & Cybercafe Lab:
We offer terminals in the Library and Cybercafe which
connect to servers that host the applications you need to
complete your homework and class projects. The servers are
updated as the applications change. If you don't see an
application you need, contact the Helpdesk (ext. 7200) to
request it. Do not attempt to install any software yourself.
You will lose your access to the system if you do. The
Library Lab is open during normal Library hours. The
Cybercafe is open between 7am and 2am, but may be closed
during holiday breaks. If you live on campus and have your
own computer, go to the how to's section for instructions on how you can access those same
applications from the comfort of your own room 24/7.
Kiosks:
Need to do a quick check on your email or check out a class?
Just log on to My JU from one of the kiosks we have located
around campus. Currently kiosks are located in the lobby of
the Howard bldg, the Library and on the second floor of the
Davis Student Commons.
Internet Access:
JU provides a 45 megabit T3 connection to the Internet.
Students should be familiar with the Student Use policy
before connecting to the network. Resident students will
need to register their personal computers and meet security
requirements before they will be allowed access to the
Internet. See the section on Campus Manager for more
information.
Wireless Access:
Wireless access points are currently installed in the
Library and Davis COB. Use the wireless utility in your
computer to select either JU-WOZ or DAVISCOB and click
Connect.
Emergency Phones
JU also provides several Emergency phone stations around
campus. These phones are programmed to call Public Safety,
and are located outside of the following buildings:
- Apartments
- Bartlett-Kinne
- Council
- Dorms
- Gooding
- Gym
- Handball Courts
- Merritt Penticoff
- Visual Arts Annex
Emergency phone calls can be made from any campus phone
by dialing 911, or by calling Public Safety at x7585.
